How To Overcome Being Negative When You Are Dieting

by Katherine Crawford

Negativity can singlehandedly destroy your motivation to keep on pushing forward. And once your motivation fades, everything will fall apart.

Unfortunately, many weight loss hopefuls don't even have a negativity plan in place.

So here is how to overcome negativity when dieting:

1. Measure your progress: It's a natural human tendency to overlook progress over long periods of time. I've seen countless weight loss hopefuls get discouraged because they think their bodies aren't changing when in reality they are losing weight.

2. Always strive to achieve the positive: And don't strive to avoid the negative. You see, constantly avoiding the negative will eventually wear you down. It's much more sustainable to run towards a positive end point and it's much more motivating.

3. Make sure your baby steps aren't too small: You don't want to overwhelm yourself by taking too much action, but you don't want to take so little action that you don't see results either. So figure out what combination works best for you.

4. Keep your positive goal in mind all the time: If you can't visualize your positive goal, it will be very hard for you to maintain motivation as time goes by. Whenever you encounter an obstacle, it's critical that you keep that positive vision in place.

5. Keep your social circle tight: You don't want to be surrounded by people that don't understand or even worse, don't agree with your goals. Negative input from others is a surefire path to de-motivation and subsequent failure.

6. Exercise earlier in the day: This will help you rearrange your brain chemistry so that you are in a more active and positive mood during the rest of the day. You see, after exercise your brain gets flooded with mood enhancing chemicals.

If you don't have an action plan in place that will help you avoid negativity when you are getting in shape, it will be very hard for you to stay the course. So take action here right now!
